Nashville Growth in Nine Years: 2015-2024

Nashville Skyline from 2015-2024

Recently, Nashville photographer Penny Adams took this astounding photo of the Nashville skyline downtown. The top photo was taken in 2015, and the bottom photo was taken in early 2024. The skyline has grown so dramatically during that time! And, you can’t even see all the cranes that continue to build in the area.

And — the skyline isn’t the only thing growing. In that same period of time, our median sales price went from $235,000 to $500,000; so investing in Nashville real estate has been quite profitable!

You might be wondering – WHY? How did Nashville become so popular? Isn’t it just a southern town with old-school country and western music? Well, not anymore!

It might have something to do with our food. In 2022, we were ranked as the “Best Foodie City in the U.S.”, and in 2023 Food and Wine Magazine named Nashville establishments as the “Best Restaurant in the U.S.” as well as Best Bar in the U.S.”

Or, it might be that it was ranked as the best city for job opportunities in 2023.

Taxes are also probably a big reason.

Lowest Taxed States

Tennessee has NO state income tax (meaning, no personal income tax on earnings in Tennessee), which saves the average relocating family between 3% and 10% of your income – or a savings of $3,000 to $10,000 more for every $100,000 you earn. Also, Tennessee has lower property taxes than 70% of the rest of other US states, putting it in the top five lowest state and local tax burdens.

And of course – lifestyle! We have a fantastic, friendly, creative community, with live music of any genre every night of the week. You can drive from the city to the country within 30 minutes — so we have downtown high-rise condos as well as farms, and everything in-between.
